The Cebu provincial government said it provided P10 million worth of free surgeries and medical services during a two-day mission in Danao City on Aug. 16–17, 2025.
The mission, the second under Governor Pamela Baricuatro, brought together doctors from Chong Hua Hospital, the University of Cebu Medical Center, the Cebu Medical Society and other private partners, marking what officials called the first large-scale collaboration of its kind in the province.
Doctors performed 59 major surgeries, including orthopedic operations, thyroidectomies and life-saving amputations, along with 74 minor surgeries and 500 other medical, dental, legal and diagnostic services.
In total, 633 procedures were recorded.
A similar mission last week in Bogo City provided 60 major surgeries and benefited nearly 1,000 residents.
The program is part of Cebu’s 456th founding anniversary celebrations and aims to augment hospital services while upgrades are underway, provincial officials said.
