CALINTAAN, Occidental Mindoro — Health officials conducted an active case finding activity for tuberculosis (TB) on Aug. 26, 2025 at the Calintaan Municipal Gymnasium through a mobile chest X-ray program.
The initiative was organized by the Occidental Mindoro Provincial DOH Office and Provincial Health Office, in partnership with the Philippine Business for Social Progress and RCG Premier Foundation, Inc.
About 300 residents identified as close contacts of TB patients or belonging to high-risk groups received free chest X-rays. The program aimed to detect TB cases early and provide immediate treatment.
A measles elimination drive was also held at the venue for residents who had yet to receive vaccines against measles and rubella.

Of those screened, 67 individuals tested positive through the X-ray procedure and will undergo further testing using GeneXpert. The Municipal Health Office staff will coordinate with barangay health workers to schedule sputum collection.
Municipal Health Officer Dr. Beth Jimenez led the activity with the support of Mayor Eric C. Labrador. The local government thanked its partners for bringing medical services to the community as part of efforts toward a TB-free municipality.
