Quezon, Bukidnon — Five barangays in Quezon staged a ceremonial burning of CPP-NPA-NDF flags on Aug. 22, 2025 in Sitio Gamot, Barangay Sta. Felomina, as a symbolic rejection of communist ideology and a pledge of support for peace.
The activity also featured the signing of resolutions by Barangays Sta. Felomina, Linabo, San Roque, Cawayan and Minongan declaring members of the CPP-NPA-NDF as persona non grata.
Barangay leaders Ferdinand A. Silvestre, Fercival A. Silvestre, Edison B. Bayadog, Reynaldo L. Montecalvo and Amando O. Arnado, together with Charlie Company led by Capt. Sidrac C. Alicog, attended the ceremony. Municipal Tribal Chieftain Datu Bebot Mandanuay and Barangay IPMR Datu Sante Panduma also expressed support.
“This event is a testament to our community’s resolve to move forward,” Alicog said. “Unity and peace are truly achievable through sincere dialogue, genuine reconciliation and a collective effort from all of us.”
