Iloilo City Intensifies Road Safety and Cleanliness Initiatives

ILOILO CITY, Philippines — The city government announced Tuesday it is intensifying efforts to improve road safety and drainage systems to protect residents, particularly during the rainy season.

The initiatives are part of the city’s “Rising Liveability” program.

Crews cleaned major roads and drains and repainted crosswalks on Oct. 21 to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety.

According to a release from the city government, personnel also performed declogging and vacuuming work on Duran Street in Barangay Concepcion, City Proper, near the Department of Education Region VI office.

Moreover, road repaving was conducted on Ma. Clara Street in Barangay Rizal, City Proper.

The city government reiterated its call for public cooperation, urging residents to maintain clean surroundings and practice proper waste disposal to prevent the spread of disease and maintain community order.
