CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro – The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) conducted an earthquake drill and hands-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training at Saint Augustine Seminary (SAS) here on Friday.
The activity, held in Barangay Suqui, aimed to enhance emergency preparedness and build lifesaving skills among students and staff, the PDRRMO said.
Participants practiced the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” protocol and executed evacuation procedures under the guidance of PDRRMO personnel. The drill stressed the importance of immediate and coordinated action during seismic events.
In a separate session, attendees also learned and performed hands-only CPR, a critical skill for responding to cardiac emergencies.
The PDRRMO said the event demonstrated successful collaboration between local government and the private sector to foster a culture of safety. It is part of broader efforts to minimize disaster risks and strengthen community resilience in the province.
The PDRRMO expressed gratitude to SAS management, students and staff for their active participation.
