MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga, Philippines — A three-day creative arts fair opened here Thursday, bringing together artists, food vendors and cultural workers as part of celebrations marking Philippine Creative Industries Month.
Feria Mabalacat, running from September 25 to 27 at the Tabnuan Mabalacat Cultural Center, is being organised by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) through the Office of the Chairman and Executive Director, in partnership with the Mabalacat City Tourism Office.
The event is one of three simultaneous creative pop-ups staged under “ArtTingi: Perya ng Bayan,” a nationwide initiative also running in Samar and Iloilo provinces to showcase artists, cultural workers and creative enterprises.
The Mabalacat fair is built around three components — Sining-Tingi, Lutong Tingi and Palabas Tingi — covering visual arts, food and performance respectively.
Its opening day drew 24 pop-up stalls, including food vendors, arts and crafts booths, photo booths, live sketch artists and displays of academic research projects.
Participating vendors and artists included Nicole Anne Canizares, Art Sumalde, InTriKet, Diana Mae Gatbonton, Warawara.ph, KraftiePop, Sophisticated_Girl PH, CAB Prints and Crafts, New Beginnings Club Photobooth, Hot Chicks, Apung Lolie’s Kakanin, Atheenas Ilocos Empanada, D’Tamales/Bobotu, CinnaMada Special, The Baker Grace, Spuds Potato & Co., Uncle B Burger, Ate Brenda’s Okoy, Eve’s Kitchen, Johannes Michi, Chino Elemos and Mabalacat City College.
The fair continues through Saturday at the Tabnuan Mabalacat Cultural Center.
