CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — City officials and department heads gathered Monday at the Calapan City Convention Center to begin planning the 2026 Calapan City Fiesta Program, highlighted by the Sto. Niño de Calapan Festival.
Mayor Arnan “Doy” Leachon, Vice Mayor Bim Ignacio, and members of the 10th Sangguniang Panlungsod met with local government department heads to finalize activities for the celebration.
Among the events being lined up are a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, a commemoration of Oplan Sandbagging, and blessing rites for the Calapan City Public Market and the City Hall Café.
The annual fiesta, which features civic, cultural and religious activities in honor of Sto. Niño, is expected to draw residents and visitors in 2026.
