Tourism Start-Up Challenge Launched by DOT, CHED to Boost Youth Innovation

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) officially launched the Tourism Start-Up Challenge on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, aimed at fostering innovation in the country’s tourism industry.

The program invites students and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to submit tourism project proposals, with submissions open from September 24 until October 31, 2025.

The challenge seeks to provide a platform for young Filipinos to contribute fresh and innovative ideas to enhance the nation’s tourism sector.

“The Tourism Start-Up Challenge is an opportunity for our youth to showcase their creativity and help shape the future of Philippine tourism,” a DOT official said during the launch.
