ABRA DE ILOG, Occidental Mindoro — Provincial and local leaders, together with the Armed Forces of the Philippines and a homegrown civic organization, joined forces Monday to bring much-needed aid to families in Barangay San Vicente here.

Led by Gov. Eduardo B. Gadiano, the outreach program held in Sitio Kapihan provided food packs, hygiene kits, and social services to residents through close coordination among the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), the Abra de Ilog Municipal Police Station, and the 76th Infantry “Victrix” Battalion.

Also participating were 1st Lt. Vina M. Del Campo of the 1st Civil-Military Operations Company, 2nd Civil-Military Operations Battalion, and Marilou Mantala Ibaña, overall coordinator of the AKAYIN Group—a local volunteer network known for supporting community welfare initiatives across the province.

The activity reinforced the provincial government’s “malasakit” approach to governance, ensuring that even far-flung and underserved communities in Occidental Mindoro receive timely support.

“This is not just about giving aid—it’s about showing our people that their government is with them, always,” said a provincial spokesperson.

Organizers lauded the strong turnout and cooperation from San Vicente residents and vowed to sustain similar efforts, particularly in barangays facing economic hardship or recovering from natural disruptions.

The event aligns with the province’s peace, order, and development agenda, with the military’s continued community engagement seen as vital to fostering trust and stability in the municipality.
