Duero, Bohol mayor seeks P480 million in national funding for market, bridge, seawall projects

Duero Mayor Al Cadorniga Taculad has requested P480 million in funding from the national government for three major infrastructure projects in his town.

Taculad personally delivered the local government unit’s formal proposal to Malacañang, which the Office of the President received on Aug. 12, 2026, he said.

The funding request includes P300 million for construction of the Duero Public Market in Barangay San Antonio, P150 million for rehabilitation of the Sitio Bugang Bridge in Barangay Itum, and P30 million for construction and rehabilitation of a seawall in Purok 1, Barangay Madua Norte.

Taculad said the projects are important for the town’s economy, disaster resilience and public safety, but noted Duero’s capacity to fund them is limited because it is a fourth-class municipality.

The LGU is now awaiting a response from the national government on the funding request.
